Since I started my blog, I’ve been tracking my web stats and waiting to see when someone would find me from a non-Julie Ray Creative search. It happened! The search term was “mobile food vendor graphic,” referring to the LA Street Food Fest graphic in my Mobile Food Vendors post from July 24th. Then, just this week I’ve gotten two more searches for “Tucson mobile food vendors.” Apparently, there are not too many websites out there talking about this topic because I’m now on page 2 of a Google search for those words!
So, I decided to blog more about mobile food vendors in the hopes of getting even more traffic. Plus I LOVE mobile food vendors, especially the new breed of hipster food trucks. Just the other day I got an email from Mobi Munch, a social network for mobile food fans and vendors, telling me about the new website – www.mobimunch.com. It’s like Facebook for mobile food fans.
Back to Tucson where the craze has not hit yet. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, Cupcakes and Frozen Yogurt, Tucson tends to be several years behind such trends. But, Tucson does have a thriving Sonoran hot dog mobile culture. I see vendors in empty lots all over town – some set up little tents with tables and chairs, others with a solo cart. So is it possible that the hipster food truck big city craze can somehow merge with the Sonoran hot dog/Mexican food truck scene in Tucson? If it does happen, you heard it here first!
